The California Center for the Arts, Escondido is located on a 12-acre campus in the heart of downtown Escondido. Designed by world-renowned architect Charles Moore, the Center includes a 1,538-seat concert hall and a 408-seat theater that hosts, Broadway musicals, dance, comedy, and concerts; a museum featuring painting, sculpture, photography, and installations highlighting the art of this century; and a full-service conference center and banquet facility catering to civic groups, trade shows, private receptions, weddings, and corporate events.

THEATRX, is a beautiful 72 seat, Repertory Theater in Escondido, California which also presents 12 new art shows a year by local artists. Founder and managing director Steve Storc has worked as a personal assistant to producer Aaron Spelling and as Managing Director for the Huntington Park Civic. He has directed and produced over two hundred theatre productions and written hundreds of songs that have been produced and performed right here in San Diego County.

Storc's musicals are usually two acts, roughly two hours, have a cast of 5 - 12 members and 8 - 12 songs. Visit Theatrx

Mingei International Museum is located in downtown Escondido, the cultural heart of San Diego North. A stunning example of contemporary adaptive re-use, the Museum houses the Grand Plaza Gallery and a more intimate Mezzanine Gallery, both featuring dynamic, changing exhibitions of folk art, craft and design.

The Escondido Museum also has a multi-media education center, visitor kiosks for collection overview and The Collectors' Gallery, Mingei International's popular museum store. Visit Mingei International Museum

Patio Playhouse was incorporated to establish a little theatre group for theatrical arts education and presentation. Patio Playhouse provides a venue where kids and seniors alike can participate in live drama, learn new skills, and enrich the quality of life in the community. Visit Patio Playhouse

Queen Califia is the only American sculpture garden and the last major international project created by Niki de Saint Phalle. Inspired by California’s mythic, historic and cultural roots, the garden consists of nine large scale sculptures, a circular “snake” wall and a maize entryway, sculpturally intergrated bench seating and native shrubs and trees planted within the interior plaza and along the outer perimeter. Antiques & Art Galleries are commonplace throughout Escondido. These galleries and shops typically sell artisans craft blown glass, handmade jewelry and clothing. Special art shows are frequently sponsored by both the Escondido Arts Partnership and the Escondido Art Association. Escondido Children’s Museum is a museum that aims to inspire children to learn about our world through exploration, imagination, and experimentation.  The Escondido Children's Museum fills a community need by offering a wholesome, educational, and appealing gathering place for families, schools, and other groups that serve children. Escondido History Center got its start in 1956 when a group of concerned citizens formed the non-profit Escondido Historical Society to preserve our community’s history. After twenty years of saving artifacts and photographs, Heritage Walk Museum in Grape Day Park opened in 1976. From preserving structures and operating a museum, to collecting thousands of artifacts and photographs, or reviving the historic Grape Day festival, we have worked for decades to preserve Escondido’s heritage in a myriad of ways. We continue to actively collect photographs, artifacts and paper ephemera pertaining to Escondido’s past and present. Visit Escondido History Center

Leo Carrillo Ranch, a historic ranch in Calrsbad, is also known as Rancho de Los Kiotes--“Carlsbad’s Sleeping Beauty”. Actor, preservationist and conservationist, Leo Carrillo (1880 – 1961) was born in Los Angeles but his beginnings were in Old Town San Diego where his grand-parents Josefa (Bandini) and Boston educated Pedro Carrillo were married, maintained their residence and raised a large family.
