Daley Ranch
Once inhabited by various California native tribes, this 3,058-acre historic ranch was purchased by the City of Escondido in 1996 from the Daley family who had owned the area since 1869. Daley Ranch is open every day for hiking, biking and equestrian use with over 25 miles of varied hiking trails. Set hikes with naturalist tour guides and handicap accessible shuttles are also available. Visit Daley Ranch

Dixon Lake
This beautiful lake is open to the public year-round. Visitors can fish, rent different types of boats and fishing poles, and enjoy picnic areas and tent camping. Lake Wohlford
Lake Wohlford is located in Escondido just before you reach the city of Valley Center with gorgeous views from all different look out points. The lake was recently restocked with thousands of fish including Black Crappie, Largemouth Bass, Rainbow Trout, Bluegill and Channel Catfish. Boat rentals, picnic areas for public use, fishing licenses and permits are all available. Visit Lake Wohlford

Felicita Park
This scenic park is located on the site of a centuries-old Indian village. The park features 53 acres of dense oak groves, ball fields, horseshoe pits, picnic tables, barbecues, playgrounds, restrooms, volleyball courts, and nature and hiking trails—not to mention grinding holes and other artifacts that boast the site’s rich history. Lake Hodges
Located in a coastal canyon, Lake Hodges offers fishing, boating, sailing, boardsailing, biking, horseback riding, barbeques and picnic tables. At full capacity, this reservoir spans 1,234 surface acres and 27 miles of shoreline. Visit Lake Hodges

Mayflower Dog Park

Kit Carson Park/ Niki de Saint Phalle Sculpture Garden
Kit Carson Park is an expansive, 285-acre park with unrivaled natural, historical and recreational value. The park’s newest addition, Queen Califia's Magical Circle, is the only American sculpture garden by internationally acclaimed artist Niki de Saint Phalle. Oceanside Beach and Harbor
Soak up the rays at this beautiful beach with a vast shoreline perfect for tanning and building sandcastles. With water temperatures averaging 68 to 74 degrees in the summer, the beach is great for swimming, surfing, and other water sports alike. Picnic tables and barbecue areas are available in designated areas, and numerous campfire sites are great for evening relaxation. Dogs are always welcome at this pleasant beach where there is plenty of sand, sun and surf for your canine to enjoy.
