There is always something fun to do when you vist

San Diego’s North County Inland is a beautiful area with a collection of unique communities. Escondido is proud of its lush valleys and mountains that spread across miles of open spaces. This area is rich with golf courses and wineries, giving you plenty of options to choose from. Breweries have also taken over this area, including the famous Stone Brewery with great selections. But each season has great events to offer, below is a list of activities this Spring that you simply must add to your calendar.

1. Escondido Grand Avenue Festival (May 16th)

This Street Faire brings live entertainment, over 500 vendors, food from around the world, and special attractions to enjoy with your whole family. This is the second largest single-day festival in California with crowds exceeding 60,000 people joining together for the fun, and you must too!

2. Butterfly Jungle (March 12th – April 10th)

Come and see over 100,000 beautiful butterflies flutter around you at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. If you have never been here before, this is one great reason to go check out

3. Spring Forward Music Festival (March 13th)

Enjoy great music as local artists play many genres. The festival also features arts, games, exhibitors, great food, contents, and much more!

4. Cruisin’ Grand Escondido (Friday Nights, April – September)

On every Friday the streets of Escondido experience a time warp with a parade of pre- 1970’s vintage cars. People fill the streets to watch American Hot Rods, Classics, Antiques, and Customs slowly roll by. This is the place to be on Friday nights!

5. 19th Annual Kiwanis Dixon Lake Trout Derby (April 23rd – 24th)

Fishing, prizes, and more! The gorgeous Dixon Lake will be newly stocked with Rainbow Trout for a chance to win prizes for adults and juniors. If you are not into fishing, then pack up a picnic and let your kids play in the kiddy pond.

6. Free Concerts at the California Center for the Arts (March 2nd, April 6th, May4th)

Every first Wednesday of the month enjoy a free concert at the Arts Center. Check out their calendar for the amazing shows.

7. Breweries & Wineries

Make your own dates and go visit the many wineries and breweries Escondido has to offer. Experience diverse tastings from tasting rooms to hilltop terraces with amazing views. Or find our why San Diego is the “Capitol of Craft” with a trip to Stone Brewing Co., or Plan 9 Alehouse for great brews.
